As my before and after picture above shows I used to be morbidly obese!
I’d had a weight problem all my life, until I finally found a way to gain control of both my food demons and my life too! A way I like to now call The Swatman Way, as it's the way I did it!
It enabled me to lose over 9st (126lbs) of excess weight – and keep if off for over 3 years (give or take a few pounds – I’m only human after all!)
Something I’d never been able to achieve with any conventional ‘diets’ I’d attempted before.
I've known how it felt to not be able to stick to a ‘diet’ and be constantly battling with the scales but now I also know how it feels to take on that battle and win!
Impressed by my dramatic results, many people often asked “how I’d done it”; unfortunately I didn't have a simple straight forward answer or a magic pill to hand them. However, I knew with what I had learnt and achieved I could help so many people, people like me, addicted to food, with no cut off switch and in danger of heading to an early grave - I had to do something!
Encouraged to start a blog and also write a book "The Swatman Way... My Journey" so I could tell my story and include all the habit changing steps I’d taken along the way to losing my excess weight, keeping it under control and being the healthiest I’ve ever been.
Fired up to help others, my husband Adam and I made a massive decision to up sticks and move from our native England to rural France! A decision we definitely don’t regret as we are now able to dedicate our lives to helping others and continually improving our own.
So, with the love, help and support of my husband Adam, I founded The Swatman Way - Especially to help you!

As Susi’s husband I know she loves me, but I also know that when it comes to food, she can sometimes hate me. Ok hate may be too strong of a word, but she definitely gets frustrated. You see I am what my wife would call a “self-regulator”. I have never had a weight problem although I have in the past carried a few extra pounds from time to time. However, unlike Susi with her food addiction, when it comes to food, I know when to stop and if I do happen to over indulge I can naturally compensate my food intake over the following days to maintain my weight.
So, you are probably thinking “how can this man help me?, people like him are so annoying” and if that’s what’s going through your mind, you too probably have someone in your life just like me. That person who doesn’t get why you still keep on eating even though you’ve eaten so much already, or that can’t understand why you just don’t eat less so you could lose the extra weight you hate so much. I’ll admit it, I was one of those people until meeting Susi and being on her weight loss and now weight management journey. She has taught me so much and I can see things from a different perspective now.
Do I completely understand what goes through her head when it comes to food? No, definitely not and probably never will (she even admits she doesn’t understand her own mind too sometimes!) but it doesn’t stop me from helping her.
I want to help people like me, who maybe don’t understand, who feel lost but still desperately want to help someone they love and care for, gain control of their weight, life and health. As I’ve been there, I hopefully can try and help them understand too.
